How to get paint off drywall?

When my mom and her friend painted my room, the layed down white, then added other colors. But they added them by putting their fingers in the paint bucket and flicking it at the walls. So my walls are all bumpy and un-smooth. I'm re-painting my walls and it's taking forever to get the old paint off by scraping and sanding. Is there any other way to get it off?
